I Should've Done Better' Review by Abby Kenna Michelle Lockey’s “I Should’ve Done Better” is a graceful work of self-reflection, decorating healthy communication with acoustic pop elegance. The song builds around a warm guitar progression, lightly plucked to provide buoyant, agile percussion. Lockey is careful to not let her arrangement speak over the message of her lyrics, working in subtle, atmospheric instruments rather than blaring rock kits. While ethereal synths resonate in rafters, mild layers of vocal harmonies buzz close to the front of the mix. The 13th Hollywood Music in Media Awards recognized the best in music in film, TV, video games, commercials, and trailers. The ceremony was held on November 16, 2022 at The Avalon in Hollywood, Los Angeles, becoming the first in-person ceremony in two years after the virtual ceremonies of 2020 and 2021.[1] Composer Kurt Farquhar received the Career Achievement Award.[2] The nominations were announced on November 3, 2022; new categories for songs and score for trailers and streaming media were introduced. Michelle's Song Don't Want It To Be a Bad Christmas was nominated for the Rom/Com category. Michelle was able to attend the ceremony in person and had pictures taken on the red carpet in Hollywood! Although Michelle didn't win, she was proud to be nominated. It just depends on what is happening in my life at the time. I write in a variety of styles, so there are plenty of songs to satisfy a listener's taste. I usually gear toward the darker side, because it helps me process my feelings and emotions and I hope helps others too. But I do like to write some heartwarming songs as well, and sometimes some extremely happy upbeat songs!
